Phone Locked Up-Any Ideas?

Early yesterday evening I plugged my phone in to be recharged, the battery was almost completely drained.

After being charged for several hours I noticed that the screen was blank with almost microscopic lines, blue,green,purple,etc.

The phone is completely frozen up and now won't even turn off. I just see this god awful screen that looks nothing like my homescreen.

I'm going to take it to the ATT store this morning to have them analyze the problem. I've only had the phone 36 days and I re-upped my contract at that point.

The phone hasn't been damaged or dropped.

I guess I could pull the battery and reboot? Blackberry anyone? lol

Any ideas or suggestions?

When it doubt, pull it out...

LOL... wait, we were talking about cell phones. Well I guess that works in this case too. Pull the battery.

If pulling the battery doesn't work, there are suggestions at the following thread on how to revive an unresponsive phone (I'd read through all 60 pages), also on how to reflash the rom too, if all else fails:
