Can't seem to get Rooted!! Why?

I have tried everything to get root. I keep having the exact same issue. I follow all instructions without any issue but when I try to reinstall packages it almost goes through but then always errors saying "E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted."

Can anyone help me out. My sd card never shows up in Explorer as E: so is this the problem? I am at witts end here. Thanks in advance

almost everyone that I have found and all with the same issues. It seems to me like it's looking at E: for the update.zip file but my SDcard is always F:

Any tips would be appreciated.

SeanWalton08 - your phone is likely to be very non-standard, based on the post you made here:

I would advise that you include links to that post when you ask questions. Answers which work for jh6 may not work for the jh4 ROM.

Edit: Oh - and you're supposed to put the update.zip onto the phone's internal sd card, not your removable sd card
