Exchanging my Captivate
Hello all,
I bought my Samsung Captivate from Amazon and was wondering if I can exchange it for a new Samsung Captivate before 30 days is up since the current has USB hardware problems, it could be from overheating while I was charging it. For example; it won't let me charge the phone or plug it in to the computer via USB. I like the phone a lot I just want to change it for new one. Not sure, if I should contact Amazon or go to At&t.
Thank you for your help. - 10-03-2010, 10:19 AM #2
Try Amazon first, since they were the vendor. If that doesn't work, then try ATT, then Samsung
Regarding the technical aspects:
1) Some laptops have problems charging phones via USB, so if you switch the phone, that may not change.
2) Did you try installing Samsung KIES (which will install its own set of USB drivers)- you can get it from the Samsung site?
3) Don't forget to change the USB settings to (e.g. storage), settings> applications>USB settings
Hope this helps,

Yes, Amazon Wireless will swap it out for you. They even advance ship you a new one, and e-mail you a prepaid label to send the bad one back.
I had great service from Amazon Wireless for my krufty Captivate.
In the end, though, both of them went back and I canceled my contract.Last edited by BoulderGeek; 10-04-2010 at 11:30 AM.

You wont be abke to swap it out at a at&t store since you bought it from a third party company. Thats lije buying something at a best buy and try to return it at walmart. Cant do it. Contact amazon
