youtube widget not working after minor 2.1 update.......

As the title says, I did a minor 2.1 update over the phone and now my youtube widget keeps getting a connection error. Any fix for this?

lets try this first
settings>applications>manage applications>youtube>clear cache and data

It is the stock widget that comes preinstalled........

Yea but when I go into that menu youtube doesn't show its pretty little face.......

Oops! I thought the YouTube app wasn't preinstalled. Follow DroidXcon suggestion. That should solve the problem.

its at the very bottom of the list,,,,if you dont see it on the list next thing to try is to go to the market and actually download it

If you really want that app working properly on the device.. I guess you'd have to make up your mind to reset the device.

Sorry jersey , ill see my gf tomorrow she has a captivate and ill investigate it some more....in the mean time if you look in my signature there is some really awsome link to some how to videos for the captivate , check them out

Try changing the applications filter to all.

Settings>Applications>Manage applications>(menu key)>Filter all

I have a similar problem, its not the app though. JUST the widget. the search button and the record button do not respond at all, the "recommended" does though. perhaps because its just a direct link and not really a function, but the two buttons that make the widget useful at all are dead. and also (just like Jersey's problem) youtube does not show up in manage applications.. a reset seems a little extreme though... any other fixes?

EDIT: Filter all, found it.. cleared cache and data. no difference.

(the white between the green and yellow was apparently what the system was doing when i hit the seach a few times, no idea if that helps at all)

After you clear cache and data, try trashing the widget and making a new one.

I had a similar problem to Jersey716. I tried ragnarokx thing and it worked. BUT! When I am on wifi it will load about ten seconds of video then stop. But when I am on 3g it runs perfect. It works every once and awhile, it will load the whole thing. I tried it at my cousins house with his wifi. It worked but I am wondering if it was just coincidence. Is there anything it could be?

Maybe, but my home computer runs everything just fine and it runs off of wifi. Plus my ps3 uses it all the time and I get great gameing. Would it by chance have anything to do with the antenna? I have a rigged up antenna made of brass and a rubber band.
