Full SD Card that isn't actually full? Need some assistance!

Howdy! So I've been trying to move some of my apps over to my SD card to back them up, but my Samsung Captivate is telling me that there's not enough space on my SD card to hold the apps. However, according to my settings, there is plenty of room left on my SD card. My SD card and phone storage page under the settings of my Captivate says that there is 9.98GB worth of space left on my SD card, and even when I try to move Google Translate to my SD card, which is only 24KB, I still get a popup that says that there is not enough space on my SD card. Does anyone know why this may be? Help would be verrrrry much appreciated!

My friends captivate has done this before. IIRC, rebooting the phone would resolve the message popup.
