    Default brightness flickers on Captivate

I don't know if this is an issue, but I've noticed ever since I got my phone in December that the display brightness dims and brightens very frequently, especially if I'm playing Angry Birds. I have my brightness settings on auto. Also I noticed yesterday that when I click on "battery use" I see that 96% of the usage is for the display and 3% is for cell standby. Is this normal to have that much battery usage for the display?

the % is normal if you don't do much with your phone. It has to be 100% so if all you do is have it on all day and don't use any high battery draining apps then the display is the main thing eating it.

also, take your screen off auto and it will fix your problem. I don't keep mine on auto for that very reason. Tends to change when I don't think it should and its rather annoying.

Ya just go into settings---Display---Brightness--- Then turn off auto adjust box and set it tot the brightness you want manually cause i think i had the same problem as you described

In addition, you should be able to change the brightness by dragging left or right on the notification bar, so long as you have the brightness not set to Auto. Cool feature and can save you a widget.
