Does anybody know if the foxfi app is/will be working on the Note 2? I heard foxfi was not compatible with jellybean os, is this still true?

According to the FoxFi description on the Google Play store [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] , "WiFi mode also does not work on Jelly Bean (Except for Verizon Galaxy Nexus). " It does sound like BT tethering will work.
BT? And does anyone know of an APP like FoxFi that will work? :(Quote:

BT = Bluetooth as in sharing your data connection from your phone over BT instead of wifi.Quote:

Well that's weird. Why would you want to use it for that?Quote:

If you can't use wifi, then BT is a fine way to get data to a laptop/tablet...... In fact, BT is much easier on the battery of the device with the data connection (much lower power than wifi). I don't know the max speed BT supports, but it use to work great back in the day using PdaNet to share a 3G connection. BT isn't quite as convenient since the tablet/laptop often needs a little work to setup it up first (where wifi is pretty easy... just scan and connect).Quote:

Got ya. Only problem is my old laptop doesn't have BT, but has wifi. Anyways, thank you. Is there an App like FoxFi that will work for this phone?Quote:

I can confirm that Fox Fi WiFI does not work on the Note II.
I havent tried the BT method yet but am disappointed in this.
I use to be able to use my Note I on WiFi without any issues.

Any other program / app like it?
I'm still setting up my phone so I haven't had time to look into it but I'm hoping there are other options.Quote:

Any wifi app out there that's like the FoxFi?
I searched and tried others but none that will connect with Wi-Fi, I am pissed off that foxfi won't work with any of the Samsung Galaxy S3 which I have now until I get my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 tomorrow. I even wrote into the developer and he never responded back. There is plenty apps out there but won't work with these latest devices or connect with Wi-Fi.:mad:Quote:

Thanks for the info. I was deciding if I was going to get a used SG3 off eBay as a way of keeping my unlimited data, if I decided not to sign a new contract for the Note 2 and loose unlimited. I would have been pissed if I got the SG3 and found out foxfi didn't work. Guess I'll probably go ahead and get the Note 2 and use their official tethering app with no unlimited data.Quote:

You're gonna give up unlimited data?Quote:

I wouldn't do that. There is still a chance FoxFi or someone else would come out with a new app that can do Wifi tethering.
I'm gonna wait.
I've installed Open Garden on my Sprint GN2 to tether via Bluetooth to my Asus Transformer Infinity tablet. For the most part, I can access the internet. I just can't get the mail client with an Microsoft Office 365 Exchange account to recognize the internet connection.
Anyone run into this problem?
Guess what gang?
My FoxFi is working now.
I'm not sure what happened but I think I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and then rebooted the phone and its working, at least for now.
