Hi guys,

Am having trouble connecting my G Note 2 as per USB Storage device. The issue is intermittent and for like every 10 tries, I may get lucky once and it shows up as GT-Nxxx.

Mostly, nothing happens when I plug in. On windows 8, 'USB Debugging' mmode on and phone shows connected as media device. have also switched 'AutoPlay' option in Control Panel to 'ask me everytime/open device in windows explorer'. didn't help

However, windows explorer does not detect it.

any non-root solutions?

For some reason windows attempts install its own generic drivers over top the samsung official ones. Happens to me all the time. I just have to reinstsll samsungs drivers everytime.. I keep them on the desktop as a saved download.

Im not sure how to stop this either.

I just use Kies Air for that. It works great as long as you're not transferring anything over a few gigs.

I actually would like to transfer movies in and out often.

hmm.. jdub1981: what sort of drivers do you keep saved on desktop exactly?
