Getting rid of contacts on device that are there from years ago
So, even though I've deleted each contact I don't desire on the phone (or so I thought I did), I still see ex-gf's numbers...or old friends I don't talk to anymore...or even old co-workers names appear as I type in the number. Where are these coming from? How in the world can I get them off? I tried Kies, but it seems to still appear.

Re: Getting rid of contacts on device that are there from years ago
im not sure if they are google contacts. i mean, i still have phone numbers of, as mentioned, ex-gf's; ex-friends; ex- co-workers....
I went to Kies and deleted a great deal of contacts (emails and some phone #'s), but while typing they still appear.
Anyone know how to fix it? - 02-23-2013, 11:01 PM #4

Re: Getting rid of contacts on device that are there from years ago
I am syncing with facebook, but i hand deleted them all. what im saying is when typing out a number (you know on the keypad and what not) it either a) comes up with the aforementioned contacts or b) has a drop down arrow that shows them. Not only that, but I'd like them to disappear off my car bluetooth.
It's rather annoying...I'd be so happy if anyone knows how to get rid of em. - 02-24-2013, 03:32 PM #6

If the contact is in Google I don't think Kies will delete those. You will either have to delete from the phone or from accessing your account on Google from a pc.

I had that problem a while back. Go in to contacts and make sure you are on contacts and not favorites. then tap you settings button( which is your lower left button when facing your phone). Then tap on contacts to display, so you can try and see where it is coming from and go from there.

I dont know the answer but sounds like the contact was removed but its saved it and fills it in for you automatically sort of like outlook saving email addresses and pops up those similar to what you are trying to type? I wonder if you would have a setting about making suggestions for you like an auto fill. My keyboard I installed gives me choices when it sees what im typing . I use swift key

You probably need to go into app manager and clear data on contacts and contact storage. (If you are syncing with google all the data from the google servers will re-sync. (Make sure the unwanted contacts are NOT stored in google)
Also ensure you look in accounts to see what is listed there. Some apps create their own contact list (like Skype and a few others). You'll need to clear them from there as well.

Alright, I went through all my contacts in google. nothing different then each of them on the phone. Could it be the sd card? Would I have to refresh the card?
