From IOS (AT&T) to Android (AT&T)
Bought the Note Feb 19th, upgraded from iPhone4. While using the iPhone, had latest IOS of course and used iMessage, have iPad as well. The shift went well, very pleased with the Note and more and more understanding why folk like the openness of Android.
Now the strange part, my wife, Mom and Pops all have iPhones (4S) an ever since I went to Android, I can only receive and/or send text with my better half. My parents don't receive my text nor do I receive theirs. I've checked iTunes account, removed the device, called AT&T, they put in trouble call, it's been over week with nothing back.
Has anyone using Android now previous used IOS seen this an is with AT&T?
Thanks in advance. - 03-04-2012, 05:39 PM #2

Re: From IOS (AT&T) to Android (AT&T)
Per other reply, I did factory reset before trading in phone for Note. If iMessages being on is the issue, wouldn't it affect any IOS sender, recall, I still receive text from wife's iPhone4S.
How can I get hers and not parents? Again, of this circle, the only change is me, switching to Android.
Old circle: Me (iPhone4), wife (iPhone4S), Mom & Dad (iPhone4S) <<< All AT&T <<< All could text between
New circle: Me (AT&T Note), wife (iPhone4S), Mom & Dad (iPhone4S) <<< All AT&T <<< Text with wife only - 03-04-2012, 08:13 PM

Yes i have the same problem. First it was the imessage thing. Turn it off on your old phone. I think they are tested on wifi using imessage and since you are not ios now the texts don't complete until they hit a cell network.
Please someone make a android app that works imessage ! Its like the old ios apps like text+ and others. Apple pretty much put them out of business with imessage.

Another wild guess. I had trouble with text on another phone and it was the network settings. home->settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks->Access Point Names
My settings:
Also, the AT&T store gave me a new SIM because I was adding 4G.Code:Name: AT&T PTA APN: pta Proxy:<not set> Port: <not set> User name: <not set> Password: <not set> Sever: <not set> MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net MMS port: 80 MCC: 310 MNC: 410 Authentication type: none APN type: internet+mms+supl

have your parents shut off their imessage and send you a text it could still be sending over the imessage server just waiting for your iphone to restore. I remember having some problems like that but had my lady turn hers off and it fixed it and then turned it back on and never had the problem again.

Re: From IOS (AT&T) to Android (AT&T)
Switching from an iPhone with iMessage to another device has been a huge pain in the *** for a lot of people. It takes a while for messages to start getting forwarded to your new phone instead of going through Apple's servers.

Absolutely. The fact that I can text back and forth with wife is perplexing. As posted before, I did make into an ATT store, spent 45+ minutes there with a call to tech support ending the visit. AT&T has placed me on what they call, high priority, since this has been going on for some time an they've had this in support just as long. Supposedly, I'm to get a call on the 8th with results.

Re: From IOS (AT&T) to Android (AT&T)
Just went through this myself. My wife and I were both using iPhones. I upgraded to the Note, but IM's were still going to my now, no longer active iPhone. I toggled iMessaging to "off" but was still either not getting the messages at all, or they were delayed up to 5 minutes. I had my wife power cylce her phone and now all is good in the wold.
Oh and did I mention how much I'm loving this phone?!?
