I just made the switch from an iPhone to the Note and I am loving it. I have a question about the lock screen. Is there a way to completely disable it so when you press the side button it goes directly to your home screen?

Click on the link below. I use this app so I know it works great. I, like you, don't want the hassle of the lock screen and want to go right to the homescreen when I press the power button. This app will do it.

I would also recommend an application titled Application Protection. This app will allow you to place a password on those apps you wish to be protected in the event your device is lost or stolen.

Without having a lockscreen this app is valuable, and I use it on all financial apps and business apps that I don't want people to have access to.

@awb594: By the way, you might also want to try an app called Screen Off and Lock (see link below).

This app will allow you to turn off the display without touching the power button. I have the icon on my main home screen and with one tap of the icon my screen goes black. I use this to save on battery power instead of waiting for the screen to timeout or fumbling for the power button on the side. IMO it works wonders.
