Default Problem using your own music as ringtones?

Hey everyone, on the E4GT, I could just hold down on whatever song I wanted to use as my ringtone. However on the AT&T version, doing the same action yields no options to set the song as a ringtone. I even went into settings to try to change it to one of my songs only to not have the option available. Anybody have the same problem or helpful advice?

I use poweramp music player app. It lets you set any song in your library as a ring tone. I have paid version but I think option is still available on free version.

I used Ringdroid from the market to make a couple ringtones last night. Worked perfectly for me and it's free.

very simple to use mp3 and other audio to make ringtones. you dont need any special software etc. connect your phone to your computer and navigate to the sd card. in the root of the sd card create a folder called ringtones. make sure ringtones is lower case. drop your mp3 in that folder, reboot phone and in settings>sound>phone ringtones you will see your mp3 listed.

I have transferred all of my custom ring tones from my iPhone (12 of them) to my S 2 and they all work perfectly.
