Getting double notifications from Gmail. How do i fix?

For some reason I get a notification saying;

New

Under that, another notification which is the actual email.

His do I get just one email notification?

Is one of those coming from the stock email app?

Both have the M logo

Remove the notification from one of the email programs. The following site has that info along with some useful tips.
