Adding phone number to a contact

Galaxy S II...I have a number in my contact list. And have tried several things. Can't find the answer. "How do you add a phone number to an existing contact?

Go in to contacts, select the contact you wish to add a number, hit edit, tap the green plus next to the number that's already there. A second number slot will pop down.

How do i add a second contact number on samsung galaxy s2. Tried the advise given but nothing works.

Did you try hitting the check mark at the top of the screen when you are finished editing?

There is no plus sign on the edit contacts to add another number to......
Any other ideas to add a second number to a contact??

Sounds like you'll have to go in the backdoor if the Edit function won't work.
Go to the phone keyboard screen and punch in the number you want to add. Right underneath the number you typed will be an option to Add to Contacts. Tap that area and there will be another screen pop up that gives you the option to "Update existing contact" or "create contact". Choose the Add to Existing Contact and scroll to whom you want it added to. Done!
