I rooted my gs2 att with Odin and it went fine and completed. But now when I turn on wifi it searches and doesn't locate any networks and then shuts wifi off. Is this typical?

    Thanks.

just went through this myself, except i lost data connectivity, not wifi. i was already rooted. did a factory reset and everything worked right away, and Superuser app is still there. all good.

Do I take out the SIM card and the external sd card to perform this function as in the rooting process?

Follow these directions to return the phone to stock: [GUIDE] How to Prepare Your Phone to Return to the Store or for Warranty Replacement - xda-developers . This should get you back to Gingerbread (2.3.4). If you want to root, follow these directions: [GUIDE] How to Flash Custom Binaries Without Ever Incrementing the Flash Counter!! - xda-developers . That should get you to the point where you can flash whatever ROM you want.
