Rooted, have to send phone to insurance, unroot before doing it?

Hello and thanks in advance. So I accidentally dropped my GSII last night and cracked the screen. Fortunately I have insurance set up on my account, but as it says in the title I rooted my phone (couldn't resist the sweet call of ICS). My question is, since the insurance is handled by Asurion, do I have to unroot before sending my phone back? It's not like it's warranty but I don't want to pay the full price just because I didn't unroot. Many many thanks for helping me :D.

Crush it further so there's nothing vital that can be used for refurbished phones.

Not a bad idea. Although unless you are sending it back to Samsung for repair, I wouldn't worry about the root status.
