Any luck at your local AT&T store -today- (non pre-orders)??

Ahh NUTZ!!!

I tried ordering my phone on ATT and they are completely sold out!!!! The CSR that helped me started by telling me that they had plenty in stock...then when she went to process the order, she mentioned that they are completely out of them in both colors and both sizes!!!!

I still have my VZW white 16gb on order but I prefer ATT at this point....

Samsung doesn't have anough devices to meet the demand. It's as simple as that and the reason the official in store launch date keeps being moved back.

I agree... ATT should have done two things...

A) Not taken pre-orders, or take pre-orders later on until the initial allotment from Samsung was confirmed.

B) Make sure they saved up a good amount of surplus of the product first, then release a date that those phones would be available.

I believe AT&T botched this release. Sprint and Verizon seem to be a little wiser. Just my $.02.

Don't forget that ATT moves a lot of units, remember their iphone sales? Normally people are camping out days for 'the next best thing' so Im not surprised a phone gets sold out now and then....

I would understand a sellout when AT&T receives units, but in the case that no one place can confirm they have received substantial amounts of units does not make it a sellout, it makes it a confusing situation.

Edit: Just noticed on the front page that AT&T finally announced Friday as being the instock date. It's about time.

I spoke with an employee at the Smithfield, RI store yesterday and was told that their store probably wouldn't have Galaxy S3 phones until Sunday. I was told that I could call today and check, but they weren't expecting any Galaxy S3 phones today.

I'm in Torrance, CA. Currently waiting for the AT&T store to open. They told me July 6th a couple days ago. Got one more hour to wait. There's no lines or other people parked here except for the Starbucks next door.

Just called the store in the Providence Place Mall in RI and I was told that they have "a ton" of the Galaxy S3 phones, if anyone in the area is wanting one.

Sitting at the AT&T store right now waiting to pick up my S3. The only got one white S3 but one if my best friends works there so it was saved for me. Now I just need the other people to leave the store so I can get it.

Acworth and Kennesaw AT&T shops have them (white and blue), and accessories, too

Portland, OR stores have them but only 16GB models in both colors from what I heard from my closest store.

I live in a town between two retailers. Couldn't get one on the phone to see if they had any, so called Corporate with a complaint. They called around for me and sent me to the other retailer. I called them up before I left the house (because it's a good 20-25 miles from home and I didn't want to drive there for nothing) and was told they had four or five white ones in stock.

Got to the store and had to wait about 5 minutes to talk to a sales rep (I browsed around the small store and they didn't even have the S3 on display so I started to wonder if they somehow mixed up the S2--it is rural KY after all). But thankfully the guy had what I wanted (the S3, case, and screen-protector).

Then we get to the register and the dude beside my sales rep rudely listens in as I explain I'm not due for an upgrade until March and just want to buy this phone at no-commitment price. The dude started spouting off something about he heard that they weren't able to sell S3's at no-commitment because they were low in stock. This irritated me. I drove that far to plop down $647 and they were going to tell me I couldn't?

Thankfully, my sales rep was smarter than that and checked with his manager and was given the go-ahead if the system let him. It did. I was half-tempted to tell that other guy to get his facts straight before he sent any customers away on misinformation and hearsay.

But in the end I walked out with the white S3 I came to get and the case and screen protector I wanted.

mine always go commando. i cant see taking a slim, nicely designed phone like the S3 and making it into a brick with a case. I always carry in my front pocket with nothing else. I have a neoprene case to stick in into when the conditions may be rough (hiking, sticking it into a pocket of my golf bag). I am very careful.

The Body Glove Dimensions case is nice. Was available in-store for $30USD. Doesn't add a lot of bulk and seems to provide sufficient protection for all but the insanely clumsy.

I resemble that remark. LOL. I thought that maybe like the i4s which had the Defender in the AT&T store when it was released that one or both of the OB cases would be available. I don't want to spend a lot since I still have a Defender on order from Amazon.

I personally recommend the Case Mate POP! case. I've had experience with cheap eBay and the OB Defender and the POP case. I like that one the best because it isn't bulky and stays on the phone when dropped.

Stopped into one of the local ATT stores (Vestal, NY) in my area today to see if they had any I could check out (BB didn't even have one of the dummy display ones last week). Did a lap around the showroom and didn't see any jump out at me so I waited a minute for a sales rep to come by. Assuming I was about to get some lame excuse on why they aren't in yet, I still asked if they had any. To my surprise, he pointed over to any empty spot on the wall saying "we just got the first shipment in about 2 hours ago and I am just now working on setting up the display, let me go grab one for you." He came out with one still in the box, unpacked it, put his personal sim card in, and handed it over even before any of the employees got there hands on one. Thought that was pretty cool in my book. I still have a little less than 2 weeks left on my current Verizon contract before I'll be switching over so I don't expect to have any problems getting one when the time comes...
