    Default new owner of sgs3

Well I am a proud new owner on the white SGS3. I came from the iphone 3g. Been looking at all posts and reading as much as i can here and xda.

not sure if i should just root and flash rom now or just install apps and enjoy the phone... many roms out there, anyone can link me to a video tutorial like in youtube so i can follow on how to root, install cwm and flash rom?

    thank

I just picked mine up today. Just left the HTC one X international for the at&t gs3. All I can say is wow. This phone is far better for my usage. The only thing I slightly miss one the one x is the screen. However this one isn't bad to look at. I am a very happy buyer.

You can root and not flash any ROMs . That's what I've done. I'm waiting for a jelly bean ROM.

Lostsoul.. Cool you pulled the trigger on the GS3 since I also have been toting around an iP3G for years and am deliberating about getting one too. Maybe you don't realize that if you root you void the one year warranty? I can certainly understand you wanting to do that, but as a noob Android user I would think you'd wait a bit. Am curious how you're making the transition to Android after having iOS for so long too. Jelly Bean looks amazing only there's no telling how long it will take for the US versions of the GS3 to get it.. The Google Voice Search on JB totally rocks though and makes Siri look stupid, LOL.

What about the gs3 do you like better than the one x? Besides battery and sdcard , what usability functions are better?

Jon... yea i waited till jellybean rom comes out so I just have to flash once. transition has not been easy as i am used to certain things on the iphone like the number of new emails or notifications. on screen notifications when locked. i can tell you that the iphone 3g is sooooo slow compared to internet and functionality. sg3g is so much faster. I also miss jailbreak but i am not going to wait for the iphone 5 to come out. battery life is not great. I would get all day and still have about 25-30% at 10pm now by 7:30pm i have maybe 10-12 % battery left. I am hoping that the new rom will fix the battery issues.
