    Default Use Upgrade on GSIII?

I am currently using the HTC Inspire and have an eligible upgrade in about 3 weeks. I originally thought that I would upgrade to the HTC One X, but the more I read about it, the better the GSIII sounds. Anybody else migrate from HTC to Samsung? Happy with your decision?

I'm a bit outdated here but I went from the HTC Aria to the Skyrocket in march. I have loved every second of touchwiz. My Samsung experience, not unlike my Aria, has been great. The way it looks, the gs3 is seemingly the better device. Who knows, in 3 weeks there could be a new super device.

I haven't seen much on the horizon to excite me, especially thru AT&T. If there was, I might consider buying a GSIII out of contract and save my upgrade for later.

Check out the Heels & Tech comparison of the HOX versus GS3. Then, watch the Android Authority review of the GS3 and the Phone Arena review of the GS3 as well as their comparison of the HOX and GS3. I don't like Sense. TouchWiz seems more clean and intuitive as well as better organized and efficient. IMO.

The One X's multitasking doesn't work properly. Avoid.

I had the HOX for "30 days" before I decided it wasn't for me. I was just waiting for the gs3 to come to stores. I like the gs3 because of the removable battery and ability to add memory. The multi tasking was definitely an annoyance with the HOX but I do miss the beautiful HOX screen and design. I also decided to pay full price for my gs3 so I don't have to worry about a contract. I plan on selling it in about 6 months when the next greatest phone comes along and before the price drops below about $280 or so

Oh and I almost forgot. I really miss the text reflow with the HOX... you can zoom to any setting and the text would reflow as needed.

After using both phones I really like the s3 better. But sense 4.0 is still better than touchwhiz.

I ordered a GS3 at full price so that I wouldn't be tied to a contract. Also, I wanted to HSPA+ variant instead of the LTE AT&T version. Data speeds aren't a huge deal for me as I am in pretty fast wifi all day.

My phone tech path was iPhone 3GS, HTC Inspire, iPhone 4, HTC OneX, iPhone 4S and then the Galaxy S3. I buy unlocked so I can move around...That said, I prefer Android. I have fun with Android, but the Inspire wasn't getting ICS, and my HOX had some wifi issues that went unresolved even after adjusting the settings to the 2.4gHz band and then the random reboots didn't help either. I ended up with the 4S due to the fact that the GS3 wasn't announced yet and I still had some useful apps in that ecosystem. A few folks in the office have gotten their S3's and have been really happy with them. I popped in my sim and had no problems as well as enjoyed the excellent call quality. I really wanted to knock it's build quality given the HOX's unibody construction, but once the backplate is secured it feels very solid and sturdy. I could push down and flex the polycarbonate unibody on the back of the HOX reasonably easily but it was a gorgeous phone. Fantastic display, and though the GS3 has a great display, it's just not quite as good.

In what I have played with I thought Touchwiz was more stable than Sense. The multitasking issue was a hassle and the random reboots were odd. Then I would see amazing battery life one day and awful the next with the same usage. I thought it was a bad device so when I took it back and swapped it, I was a little bummed that the replacement had the same issues, albeit not as frequent. In any case, Touchwiz isn't as pretty but is more reliable, and I'll likely install the Apex launcher. Nice, clean, and very functional.

I have read a few reviews on the HOX and the 2 deal breakers for me are the non-removable battery and no SD card support. My Inspire has locked up enough times that not being able to do a battery pull scares me. A few years back Samsung's name was always being drug through the mud due to lack of timely updates and general poor customer support. Has this changed, for the better?

Only time will tell with the updates. But with rumors like JB in AUG....I would say if this is true then Samsung has gotten their crap together. For the better too.

So far I am enjoying my time on the S3. Not many bugs and the hardware seems solid enough!

I do however miss Sense 4.0. I loved that on the HOX. Just to bad the multitasking was a mess. Otherwise I would have stuck it out with HTC. But I do love the extra gig of ram though! Now I can multitask without an issue!

My husband switched from the HTC ONE X to the galaxy s3!

I like some of its features, but overall the galaxy was a better fit me. I'm over sense

I have an HTC Thunderbolt (the Verizon version of your Inspire, but with a front-facing camera and the ability to add an extended battery that lured me away from AT&T a couple of years ago when I had to pick between the two for a corporate phone), and my wife recently upgraded to a Galaxy S2 (AT&T).

I got sick of Sense and loaded Go!Launcher on my Thunderbolt.

I tried TouchWiz and was not at all tempted to load a third party launcher when I was playing with and setting up my wife's S2, and my wife has been happy with TouchWiz. I can't speak for the S3, but the S2's user interface feels solid and is pretty intuitive.

So far, other than some battery life issues when WiFi is left on (which the recent ICS upgrade seems to have fixed, at least partly), she's been very happy with the S2.

I'm currently pondering switching to AT&T and getting the S3.

The storage is not expandable on the HTC. That was the deal breaker for me.

I have the gs3 from Verizon. I upgraded from the DROID razr. The gs3 rocks! Only downside is apps can't be moved to the sd card.

I saw a guy talking on the Note yesterday and it looked like he was holding a book to his head. Just has no practical appeal to me.

Apps can't be move to SD?!? Is this a Verizon only model issue? Or all GS3's?
