Alternate Keyboard????
I read that even though the standard text inputting keyboard included in the GS3 bundled software is very good, I'm understanding that there are downloadable alternate keyboards that can be made to be the default GS3 keyboard; and that they are far superior.
Does anyone have any actual information on this; as speculation and opinionated guessing isn't what I'm seeking. - 09-16-2012, 10:31 AM #2

Re: Alternate Keyboard????
Exactly.
Try swiftkey or smart keyboard pro.
This is a forum and is usually filled with user opinions based on experience with something. So if you looking for facts and or statistical data on a keyboard you may wanna contact the vendor.

SwiftKey 3.
And I'd suggest you get the s3 before even making such comments in your entry post. If you want actual statistical information go to developers and vendors. You don't even have the s3 yet!!! Fail

Personally I'm very much content with a "Jelly Bean Keyboard" app I downloaded from the Play Store. I liked the stock keyboard, and it's one of MANY things I miss about my GN

Re: Alternate Keyboard????
What emoticon app do you use that integrates with SwiftKey 3. I love this keyboard but I like to send smileys too. The DROID smileys are creepy to me, lol.

First of all, please allow me to sincerely and humbly apologize for my expressive post, that started this thread off. I am on a number of medications; BUT, that's no excuse for my ranting.
I'm VERY appreciative of all the people that offered suggestions, when you don't know me; and by the way that I presented myself, if I were the people that replied, I wouldn't have suggested anything.
BUT, I am sincerely appreciative for all your suggestions.
SO - - - I bought both SwiftKey 3 Pro and Jellybean Pro keyboards.
Having been a geek for years (my first computers were a Sinclair 1000 - that I built myself and a Commodore Vic 20), in a head to head comparison (sounds like the title of Bill Clinton's next book), I definitely like the

I definitely prefer SwiftKey 3 Pro.
Throughout my entire life, I have always turned off predictive text; as sometimes it can get one into trouble.
SwiftKey's "learning my written style" feature seems to capture the true essence of me significantly better than the Jelly Bean keyboard does / did.
Again; please allow me to express my gratitude for those of you who tried to help me out, even though I appeared to be a grump.
That's why this is the best Android blog in existence. - 09-26-2012, 12:29 PM #23
