I have an att samsung galaxy s3 running 4.0.4 and I'm wondering if there's a way to use the usb port to power an external mic, either with a usb to 1/8" jack or an external usb preamp. Ideally I'd like to figure out a way to use it with a xlr phantom powered shotgun mic. but I also am considering purchasing a low-end 1/8" mic. I'd be using it for field recording sound effects and ambient noise. Also curious about which apps are ideal for this. Any ideas? has anyone else done this? any thoughts and input are appreciated. Thanks!
