I know it sounds easy enough, but make sure the screen is on when syncing. It will not sync otherwise, causing the app to close. Simply reopen the app with your GS3 connected, and screen on and you'll be good to go. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the advice, but that did not work. Screen on, unlocked, and still nothing.

Any other ideas?

For me, Android File Transfer worked with both Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7. It completely stopped working under 10.8. Google hasn't updated the application, nor have they said anything about why it no longer works or if it ever will.

I pretty much gave up on it. I updated my Parallels and just launch Windows. It mounts the phone without needing any other app.

I don't know if it's an Apple thing or a Google thing, but neither side seems too interested in making it work.

I just bought a GN2 today. First time to Android. Leaving iPhone. Can you tell me what I should be using since the file transfer isn't working for me either? My MacBook Pro is running 10.8.2.
Thanks for any help.

You could try either Wifi File Explorer or Airdroid. When you run them on the phone, they provide you with an IP Address. You enter that IP address into your COMPUTER'S internet browser and it allows you to transfer files back and forth over wifi. I've used both of them and they work great.

Android transfer isnt compatable with anything past Android 4.0. I use WiFi File Explorer Pro, which is a browser based transfer

I had this issue with the Galaxy Note 8. AFT works fine with my Nexus 7. Turns out having Kies installed in the Mac is causing disruptions. Uninstall Kies and AFT works immediately.

I found this out when launching Kies -- they were honest enough to launch a pop-up notifying me that having Kies installed will cause AFT not to work.

On a side note, my Nexus 7 was running 4.2.2 and the Note 8 is running 4.1.2 -- both works with AFT.

Had this issue with Samsung Galaxy S3, and this was the case, thanks!

I fixed it! The issue is that the program Kies, which most of us have installed on our mac from when we first plugged our phones in, messes with AFT. So all you have to do is download the Kies dmg from samsung's website SAMSUNG KIES and run the dmg. Then select Uninstall and wait. Reconnect your s3 and you should be set!!! Couldn't believe it myself but so glad that AFT is working again. Let me know if that works for you.
