I apologize if it's been posted already, but AT&T confirms Gingerbread in "coming weeks" for HTC Inspire 4G!

I hope the new version of sense comes with it. When they updated the atrix it did come with their newest version of blur.

I seem to remember having read that htc sense 3.0 is not completely compatible with the inspire. Hope I'm just full of hot gas--I'd love to be wrong.

HTC did say that but they also said that older phones are going to get some of the features of the new sense. They didn't elaborate on what features though.

We won't get Sense 3.0, but I do know what will come with our gingerbread. We will be getting gingerbread along with Sense 2.1, the same version of Sense that's now currently on the Verizon Droid Incredible 2.

Sense 2.1 is what the inspire 4G runs right now. Sense 2.0 is a little older than a year right now. Sense 3.0 is what the sensation/Evo 3D run right now.

Correction, we have 2.0. The following link says as much. When we get gingerbread next month, we will then get 2.1.

You can also see the version number (2.0) in the manage applications menu (all).

I have a question. Does anyone know what will happen to all our settings and such when this OTA happens? Like, all my icons I have on the homescreens and the order they are in. Will we have to let all our apps reinstall? Is it basically like changing to a new ROM?

I don't think so. Everything should stay the same. It should be just like the HSUPA update we had in April. However, just remember what you have on your homescreens before applying the update, just to be safe.
