Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
Don't get me wrong, my Inspire is a great phone. It performs well, with only a few bugs that almost any Android phone is going to have. But as far as what AT&T currently offers, I wish I would've waited for the Samsung Infuse. The slightly larger screen really appeals to me, as well as the outdoor visibility. I can hardly see anything on the Inspire's screen in sunlight. Also, I've read that the Infuse has a much better battery. Seems as if it will also be updated to Touchwiz 4.0 which looks very nice, while the Inspire was left in the dust with only Sense 2.1. If only I had the money to blow on the phone...

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I needed a phone (mine broke) so I got the Inspire when it came out. I wanted the Infuse, but I knew it would be a few more months to it came out. It also helped that I got my Inspire for $50 the third day it was on sale too. The Infuse does have a better screen, but I'm happy with my Inspire.

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
well after the event that announced the three AT&T devices (Inspire, Atrix, Infuse). My first choice was the Infuse because of that gorgeous screen. Then I heard about the Atrix and its bleeding edge dual core processor, and immediately thought i had to have it. So a few weeks after there still wasn't release date for the Infuse or the Atrix. But the HTC inspire was due out soon after, and since my phone was busted, (palm pre plus) I needed a phone as soon as I could. And the Inspire didn't look to shabby on paper. And no ffc wasn't a deal breaker for me. So I ended up buying an Inspire off contract.

I have both and prefer the Inspire. The only thing the Inspire is missing... Front facing camera.

Love my Inspire...Hate that it doesn't have front facing camera. Didn't think I'd miss it when I first got this device. Now I want it!

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I personally love the Inspire (AT&T gave it to me for free, so what's not to love). I've read several Atrix vs Inspire posts and it seems that a lot of folks have gotten an Atrix and switched. I've also never really liked Samsung smart phones, they just feel cheap to me.
I'm not entirely convinced that the performance boost from having another processor is worth the extra battery consumption right now. My guess is that just like when Dual Core, and then Quad Core CPU's for PC's came out the software technology took a bit to catch up so it could actually utilize multi-core CPU's efficiently, we're dealing with the same things in our phones right now. - 08-18-2011, 09:58 AM #9
Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
For the price and the performance i dont think the Inspire is beatable. Yeah its missing a few extras but oh well. I have played with the atrix a lot and didnt really like it that much and there is something about samsung phones that i dont like. Very happy that i went with HTC and i like my Inspire a lot!

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
Yes and no. Some days I do, some days I don't.Some days I seriously consider going back to my Bold 9700, some days I don't.
I have given serious thought to taking AT&T's retention dept (long story) up on their offer of getting an iPhone for upgrade price early (a standing offer with, according to them, no shelf life that's been in effect since late last month) because of various annoyances I've had with the Inspire since I got it.
I had hoped that the update would fix some issues I've had (battery life especially after seeing some early reports in the threads about the update) but - if anything - it's made things worse in some regards. There really are a lot of things I do like about the Inspire and Android in general (i'm a fiend for camera apps, for example, and Android does have some very serviceable and/or awesome apps to play with to that end) but, as a certified gadget junkie I don't think I should be second guessing my phone of choice every other day or so like I am right now.Swimming, against the current, in a stream of b.s. - 08-18-2011, 05:16 PM #11
Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
The Infuse was larger thus harder to carry in your pocket HOWEVER it is lighter than the Inspire considerably. I also had reception issues with the Infuse that are now corrected with an update. Now that I have officially converted to Android and am using a purchased outright Inspire as a toy to learn Android with, I will most getting a new device this fall. And yes I will root it as soon as I can. - 08-18-2011, 06:02 PM

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
Yup, that's exactly what I'm saying.
I'm not upgrade eligible until summer of '12. But they will let me get the iPhone early. The problem, for me, is being able to afford it (and apple care and a case) all in one feel swoop...well, that and I'm waiting to see what the 5 or 4GS or whatever they end up calling it brings.Swimming, against the current, in a stream of b.s. - 08-18-2011, 07:51 PM #14
Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I have always thought about waiting, but eventually, I just got the Inspire because my older phone had severe water damage. It's a great phone, created by a great company. Sure, it has it's bugs, but what phone doesn't.
My friend has an Atrix, and she said that she personally likes my Inspire better.
I've always had a Samsung phone before I ever got my Inspire, and I've always had a bad experience with them, so I decided that I wouldn't get the Infuse, I said to myself that it really wasn't worth the wait. Plus, I went to the AT&T Store to try out an Infuse, and personally, I didn't really like it.
The Front Facing Camera would have been nice to have, but I don't really use my phone for video conferencing, so it really isn't a big deal.
The Dual-Core processor isn't a deal breaker because I don't play games on my phone often.
I'm actually happy with my Inspire, because it does what it needs to do, and it does it fast.
It did get it's bugs after the Gingerbread update, but other than those bugs, it doesn't disappoint me.
Anyways, whenever something new comes out, people always wish they had waited, you know? - 08-18-2011, 08:06 PM

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I wanted the Sensation, but decided to leave T-Mobile and wanted to stick with HTC. I like the Inspire. It's a snappier version of the Evo which I loved with a passion. I would love to have a dual core device, but I'll wait until next year and see what the Death Star offers. Maybe if the T-Mobile/AT&T merger goes through, HTC will release an AT&T version of the Sensation for the US.

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
My only regret is the battery life. Cant stand it. But since I rooted and began running CM7 my battery life has been bearable.
If there was one thing I would change hardware wise it would be a better battery and front facing camera. Everything else is perfect for my needs. - 08-21-2011, 03:54 PM #19
Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
If you delete the extra clocks and weather stantions it does help. Also turn off the extra stuff that is set to sync by default like news and stocks... Better battery life and a ffc would complete the device hardware wise...

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I havent been to an ATT store in the last couple weeks but from the last time I went it does not look like I am missing much. Most of the phones I saw were tiny and girly, rubbery looking and honestly until a phone similar to the Inspire (with Upgrades n stuff) comes out I think I am staying with this one. It just stands out especially when you go to the store. I dont like the screen of the Infuse..and the Atrix looks like a metro pcs phone...

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
Of course now that the SGS2 is finally announced, I wish I had waited for it. No way it costs more than $199 on AT&T, because it has to compete with the iphone. I still have a few days to exchange if I want. But, I think I'll be keeping the Inspire. I chose it over the Infuse, to which the SGS2 is similar.

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I've had my Inspire for about two and a half wees and I love it. I upgraded my Torch to get it. I don't regret the change one bit. I got tired of the clumsiness of the blackberry. Ive discovered a few bugs on android but I don't regret the change one bit.

Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I bought my Inspire off contract for 250 mint off ebay. The infuse was fetching 400. I couldn't justify spending the extra $150. I think I made the right decision. (I was coming from a Backflip and just couldn't take it anymore!! I used my BF's SIMcard, input a new APN, and I was good to go with the inspire.)
One thing I hate... the battery. I bought a couple more off ebay w/ a charger. The phone itself is amazing, especially compared to what I had before...aka the world's worst smartphone.
When I am eligible for an upgrade, I'll get myself either the infuse or the gs2. My wife wants my phone. She has a nasty 3g iphone. It's horribly slow and laggy, just like my backflip. - 09-14-2011, 12:07 PM #25
Re: Anyone Wish They Would've Waited For Another Phone?
I had wanted the Samsung Galaxy S2 but when I picked up the Inspire I was sold. The phone just felt right and I was not happy with the feel of many of the Samsung phones. So no....I am glad I got this phone when I did. Even if it wasn't the new phone on the market.
