AT&T HTC Inspire USB issues

Help please. I plugged my devise via USB into my computer to upload pictures and files but my desktop doesn't recognize my phone. Also the screen to choose disk drive etc. no longer comes up. It did work but out of the blue now it doesn't. Thanks in advance to who can help, thanks. I've installed HTC Sync but that doesn't help either. :-$
