Wait for Atrix or the Infuse?
I have a Captivate now (on my 3rd one) and the GPS is still effed up. Got it at the end of Dec. I love the form-factor, the screen, and everything but the GPS.
Since this is on a business account I told them I'll wait until the "newer" Android devices become available before I return the defective Captivate. They don't seem to have a problem with that.
I'm not too keen on the Atrix but I do like the Infuse. But today this HTC is looking good.
My only concern is battery life and the Atrix seems to have a much bigger battery.
Suggestions? - 02-01-2011, 07:42 PM #2

Infuse looks good, if you like samsung and dont care about docks, it is a great alternative to the atrix. the larger screen would be well appreciated.
If you have ants in your pants, like me, you should go and get the atrix on day one because it will be very current for a while (if you dont want/care about LTE) - 02-01-2011, 09:31 PM #4

so many people seem to think the dual core is going to kill the battery.
What kills the battery is the proocessor running at full blast trying to process whatever your doing. with a dual core processor, a task that normally takes up 1ghz will only have to work at 500mhz x2 on an optimized dual core processor.
essentially taking half the work. think of it as pushing a boulder or something. one person is going to have a hard time doing it.
Get his twin brother to help him and its easy as pie.
its the same concept. androidandme.com had a nice chart and explanation if you want to look it up.
anyways i too am getting the inspire. im getiting the inspire full price now, and then getting a dual core - maybe lte if they have it - when my contract is over 4-5 months laterEPIC 4G

I'm picking up the Inspire no questions asked. HTC has the largest developer support base of any manufacturer. Motorola, LG, Samsung, and others don't have a great track record with hacks. Picking it up as soon as it can be rooted and a ROM from Cyanogen is available... which shouldn't take very long at all.
If you want a stock phone... the Atrix does look pretty cool. Wait till they come out and play with em for a little while. - 02-09-2011, 12:56 AM #11
In most cases, yes its true that the Atrix's processor will run with the cores at only half power. But, both cores will be capable of running at a full 1ghz each if necessary, which WOULD adversely affect battery life. In normal use, though, it won't be any worse than the current crop of phones.
