What does no hdmi slot actually mean? Does that mean you can't put videos from the phone onto your tv, or can you do that wirelessly with the dlna functionality?

With HTC there are two options either you use DLNA or HTC Media Link

It means that there is no port on the phone to plug a cord in and run it to your tv or laptop. I personally would rather use DLNA than look for wires and plug stuff in when I want to watch home movies I took on my phone... But that's just me.
