[Guide] Installing Swype Beta on HTC Inspire 4G

Hi don't know how to install swype on my inspire ATT phone. Please help

Hey, I just went through this tutorial and everything seemed to work - swype installed, I went into settings and ensured the swype checkbox was checked and I restarted my phone. When I look at the keyboard though, it is still showing the default tap version... Swype doesn't seem to show up even though settings says that it is enabled. What am I missing?

Thanks for your help!

Tap and hold in your text window until the input method selection prompt appears. Select swype and that should fix it.

I have it installed on the HTC Inspire but it isn't working. Any ideas ... keyboard acts like regular KB although swype is selected.

You don't need to sideload Swype if you have the Gingerbread update or if you got the unknown sources update, it will install just fine without the need to sideload.

To the people having issues, follow the installer's instructions.

Yeah, I just downloaded swype without having to go through sideload. It works great!

trouble guys what do i do i dont have usb debugging on and im trying unstall the swype i installed the wrong version and when i goto lock screen and try to type my password it doesnt show a keyboard now im screwed and suggections guys

I looked at the file that was actually installed on C: and it was AC_SWM . I typed that and it worked fine.

When I went to sign up for the Swype Beta, it actually walked me through installing it on my phone using my phone. It works now! Love it!

I am trying to follow the steps to install this on my Inspire, but when I get to step 4, it is not finding my device. If the drivers are not installed correctly, how would this happen? Is there a fix?

I need some help here. At step 4 when i type in adb devises i get;

c:\AC_SWM>adb devices
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
** daemon still not runningerror: cannot connect to daemon

Can you please help me? I cant live without swype!
