Where you're from: Dallas, Tx

You're profession: CAD Technician

Smartphone phone history: MOTO Razr, HTC Ozone, Droid, HTC Inspire 4G

The phone you are or have switched from: Droid

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? 4.3" Screen, 2nd Gen Snapdragon processor, No UI Lag (significant difference compared to horrid Motorola UI), ease of customization, HTC Sense

Any disappointments? No kickstand, no actual HTC Desktop Cradle (only thing that was spoiled by Droid), don't care about HDMI or front camera (I'm not away from my wife THAT long), battery does suck but hey what smartphone with a 1Gz processor do you know lasts long?

Overall perfect upgrade from Droid for me. I don't even see the need to root, Droid was rooted but the Inspire seems just as fast as the Atrix so no reason for me to even overclock.

Phone switched from: Blackberry Bold 9700

Favorite Feature: Large screen, ease of use and no lag when swithing between functions and or applications. BB had a bad habit of lagging severely.

Disappointments: would have liked a forward facing camera but wasnt a major issue for me. battery life is a little lacking but like guy above me said, what smart witha 1ghz processor do you know lasts long? lol.

So far I have to say this has been the best ive had in years since my very first phone 10 yrs ago lol. it worked so well cause all it was, was just a phone, no camera, no color screen etc. lol. old school Moto V60.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Widgets like weather, Notifications is a big one for me coming from the lack there of on iOS.

Any disappointments? Battery life. But I knew it wasn't going to be great going into it, so it isn't that big of a deal.

And anything else you can think of. I am really loving Android so far.

Hey all,

Where you're from: I am originally from Poland, but I live in Chicago right now.
You're profession: I'm in IT. More specifically, application and hardware support at a trading firm.
Smartphone phone history: It's not very impressive. iPhone 3gs > HTC Inspire
The phone you are or have switched from: iPhone 3gs
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? My favorite feature would be being able to use widgets.
Any disappointments? My only disappointment is the battery. I feel like its capacity is not enough to power this phone. I'm impatiently waiting for a bigger battery to come out. :) I have tweaked the settings to have the phone last 24 hrs with light to moderate use, but i feel like I'm limiting myself.

Nice to meet you all.

Where you're from: Deerfield, IL (about 15 miles north of Chicago)

Your profession: Electrical contractor

Smartphone history: Blackberry (I don't even remember the model), Palm Treo, iPhone, iPhone 3Gs, Inspire. I think that covers all the platforms!

The phone you switched from: iPhone 3Gs

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire: Do I have to pick just one? How about it's everything that the iPhone is not.

Any disappointments?: Battery life (big shocker). I realize it's a mini computer, but a couple more hours of battery would go a long way in satisfying my frustrations.

I absolutely love the Android platform and am glad to be here to watch it grow and evolve.

Where you're from: Lafayette, IN
You're profession: Quality assurance
Smartphone phone history: htc Aria
The phone you are or have switched from: htc Aria - Before only flip phones
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Big, I mean HUGE screen - 1ghz processor - beautiful image quality from camera
Any disappointments? I'm not smart enough to root it yet. My Aria had Cyanogen mod and I miss it. I don't like all of the bloatware. Flimsy sd/sim card cover. <grrrr>.
And anything else you can think of. I liked my Aria because of the pocketable size. This phone lets you know it's with you, but still not as bad as I thought it might be. htc or someone needs to make a 1600mAh + battery for this phone...any body out there?

Hi everyone, I thought maybe you guys wouldn't mind getting to know each other a little better ;)

So, how about everybody introduce themselves, and share as much as you're willing to share:

Where you're from:
You're profession:
Smartphone phone history:
The phone you are or have switched from:
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire?
Any disappointments?
And anything else you can think of.

I'll start. The first few are obvious, so here's the rest:

Phone history: Samsung i500, Treo 600/650, PPC 6700, Mogul, Touch, Pro, Touch Pro 2, Droid, Incredible, EVO, Droid X, Vibrant, and the Fascinate.

Phone I am switching from: I am a phone addict and as you can see I've purchased quite a few. But I've always said, you have to pick your carrier first and your phone second. In my case that has been Sprint and then Verizon over the years. That said, I caved to the popularity of the iPhone 4, but I returned it the next day, not realizing how many shortcomings it had for my smartphone needs. Even though I don't have an Inspire, I still wanted to kick off this thread, because I'm in a position where I want to meet as many members as possible!

Next:
From Tulsa, OK
Have owned a Tilt, Fuze and now switched to the Inspire.
Favorite feature is the Android operating system. Also like the big screen.
Too new for disappointments.

where i'm from: louisville, ky
profession: restaurant managment
smartphone history: palm treo> palm treo 800w>palm pre>htc evo>pal pre>samsung epic>nexus s>samsung galaxy s 4g>htc g2>lg optimus t>htc inspire 4g
phone i switched from:lg optimus t (had to use this as i bricked my g2)
favorite feature: not new to android so i am familiar with os. the thing i missed most from the evo was sense and sense 2.0 rocks!!! i love it. also love the widgets. when i went from android back to web os i missed the widgets terribly
dissapointments: none really. once you know the os you know what it can and can't do. accept that androids will not get the battery life of iphone and bb.
anything else: if you are new to android, don't freak over the battery usage. if you get through the day, that is pretty good. also, be very very very careful rooting anything htc. it can come back to bite you. trust me
