Update? Yeah right, we were lied to.

Here it is, 6am in TN, just checked, and guess what? No update! Now I can't check again till this time tomorrow morning. We were lied to about that sideloading update. They don't intend to give us that update. They just wanted to get our hopes up. Disabling that feature for as they say, "our own good". I've had it and do not give a crap if they ever enable it via the promised update! I've been sideloading apps on my Inspire since I first learned about the SWM, and they ain't keeping me from any apps I legally obtain. The only update I care to get is Gingerbread! Sorry for the long rant, but I'm tired of their games and toying with the users who prefer to keep their devices stock until they decide when, and if, they want to root. I'm no longer gonna check.for that p.o.s. update anymore. They can shove it up where the sun don't shine. I hope everyone else who wants that update can get, cuz I don't want. Peace!!!

they said it would start yesterday and rolled out over the next few weeks.so since it is only the second day it will be a while i bet. since they tend to do the updates in batches.

ok dude you seriously need to chill out. If you read clearly, these updated take weeks to roll out to every single phone. Read more carefully because you'll only end up being flamed for flaming HTC/AT&T. They told you straight up what would happen. CHILL

People need to have patience. It's called a "rollout" for a reason. Realize that at least it IS coming. Just have to wait for a few days.

I think it would be helpful for everyone, not just the people getting impatient, if AT&T put out some kind of road map or schedule of when the US regions should expect to see the software rolled out.

The way they did it with the last update for upload speeds was **** poor to say the least.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even know how to do that. Plus, if the last update is any indication, it seems really random when and where they roll out.

I got mine last night without any kind of notification or having to do anything. Go to settings> applications and see if "Unknown Sources" is listed.

That was uncalled for and you know it. I fully read the articles on AC, Engadget, and Pocketnow. At least on the last update, there were a decent amount of ppl on here that had already received the update by now. ATT were the ones who removed functionality from Android, not HTC or the other carriers and manufacturers. I don't like being told where and what to do with my device, that's why I didn't get an iPhail. ATT doesn't deserve the slack you're so willing to give them. Have you gotten the update yet? I don't think so and I haven't heard or seen one soul who has! I'll calm down when I start seein ppl actually RECEIVE that update. Until then don't worry about ranting posts like my OP.

Nope, still only lists USB Debugging, Mock Locations, and Stay Awake. If you got it, congrats, and now then I can calm down.

All i can say is wow. But everyone here os right by saying that it will take a few weeks to get the update fully out to everyone. Relax and be patient. Its only day 2. If you wait, the update will come.

I did get mine after restarting my phone. Try that then go to Settings> Applications and see if "Unknown Sources" is there.

I've done that several times.and nothing. I don't care about it, ill get.it when I get it. If you got it, Kool. Ive been sideloading for a long while and, after 2 days, just sic of worrying about finding it. Like I said a minute ago, I'll get it when I get it.

Some people may not want to root their phones for various reasons. In that light, it isn't such a "minor update".

The update is supposed to rollout anonymously and randomly. i havent seen any news of it being dropped in cities, just randomly throughout the US. give it time, youll get your update soon enough
