    Default Software update available.

I haven't updated yet but my phone shows the update as available when manually checking under Settings.

I'm not sure that this is a new OS update. The OS info in the link is the same OS that my phone came with.

It's not a full os update from google... Like the article said, doesn't even go 4.3... It's more of an AT&T update fixing and updating their stuff.

This is supposed to be just a bug fix/small enhancement update from AT&T. It's not an OS update.

I don't know, it won't let me check the server for several hours. I'm ok with it, all I need is to D/L corrupt files.

The link in the first post shows those settings. Pretty sure there was a screen capture of the software About screen.

Oh-No, it just hit me! ATT's G2 didn't have street names announced. I'll bet thats the fix.

Well, mine was already fixed when Google put it's TTS on the play store.

    But this makes sense.

I suspect you don't use Nav much, but to those that do it's a biggie! I've been a Garmin user for many years and now that I know for sure that they use very weak processors etc, and they cost more than an Android phone.

I just got the software update notification this morning. Does anyone know if it breaks root? I am stock, rooted...no customer recovery or rom.

    Thanks.
People are now having problems trying to install recovery after taking this update, it's really weird. The older version works for them, though..

I use nav very often and I downloaded Google tts when it became available. so I had streets names announced. other than that I don't see a damn thing this update did. my battery still does random drains

Debloater hxxtp://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294 and then just hide the SDM.apk like referenced earlier.
