My Android knowledge is a bit out of date, but I recall that there used to be a way to get certain phones to check the server for updates more often. In other words, my G2 now says I cannot check for 17 hrs 23 minutes... lol. Anyone have a super great idea on how to force it to check for an update?

I am impatient, it seems. :D

Possibly force stop Google Services Framework and clearing data and cache.

I think I remember reading somewhere that doing that could cause issues with some Google apps though.

I did this twice on other phones. First time no issues. Second time messed up my Google Apps for like 2 weeks. Wasn't worth it to me. I won't do it again.

I remember date pushing to force the update on my note 2 and eventually it got up to be like 366 days before I could check for an update. So i had to keep pushing further and further in the future. Took like a week of that before I finally got it. Is this how the LG updater handles when you push the date forward? If so I will just be waiting.
