"Roaming Indicator Off" At Bootup after latest update

started happening right after this latest knock code update. the only way to fix it that i've found is to make a call. then the roaming indicator off notice goes away and is replaced by the familiar at&t indicator. really annoying

nobody's having this problem after the update? this is a 100% stock G2...

I'm also having the same problem and have only discovered the same solution as you.

I also found that I am unable to send SMS messages until I clear the "Roaming Indicator Off" message.

I have this problem too. can't get it fixed. New sim card even.
Tried mobile network home on, off, on. Nothing.

Since this thread is 4 months old I wonder if anyone got theirs fixed.

nope. still have to make that daily morning call to get things going. at this point i don't anticipate that the issue will be resolved before it's time to get a new phone...
