Only thing I know to do is to modify the updater-script in the rom you want to flash. Look for the assert() at the top of the file and make sure that there are entries in the getprop() for p500, p505, p506. Check out this thread

Download the ROM to your SD card
Download the Gapps zip to your SD card
Reboot into recovery
Take a backup by selecting backup and restore
Select backup
After its done go back to the CWM main menu
Use the install zip from SD card option
Select the ROM zip file
Tell it yes you want to install it
Let it do its thing
Install the Gapps zip the same way
Reboot

I just restored ICS because of too many problems, namely: home button doesn't work, lock screen does not work either, the browser doesn't work, and notifications don't seem to work.

Ok I found a problem with Rashed's P505 CWM, when I backup its not generating the MD5 sums, which is VERY important. I can't restore them now. Is anyone else getting this problem?

Will that affect installing the ROM at all? Because I restored something before and it worked fine.

Woah. Ok did you do a clean installation? Assuming that you did. I have no clue what's wrong with your phone. I'm noy having any of those problems.

Yeah mine has been getting md5 mismatches on most of my backups except my touchwiz backup.

Just re-flashed it... Seems everything is in working order. Just an anomaly, I guess. I hope.

Edit: Nope, guess not. Now only the Play Store doesn't work.

Trying latest build right now 30/07/12

Edit: Launcher doesn't even shows when you press the home button, it's just a black screen, but i shows the notification bar, and the settings button on the notification drawer it shows a settings FC (launcher problem)
3 random reboots right now

Im having the same issues with the home and search buttons not working and the browser not working or me not seeing the notifications, but i just installed the maxthon browser and have been using it. I did a clean install, but I will try again.

Its no biggie for me really. all the main functions for me work and thats whats most important. as long as i can get messages, im alright lol.

i tried again and it actually got past the cool boot logo

then did the setup thing after that it said settings not working or something like that then from there the lock screen worked once and the notifications worked and that's it

The recovery isn't backing up sd-ext either

I tried every way possible to install this build.

First, SetupWizard crashed after setup. Then no home screen. Pulled down notifications and clicked on the Settings icon, Settings crashed. No power button, No menu button, No home button - except long press for history, No search button.

I opened the ROM zip and noticed there was no launcher. So I attempted to flash Rashed's Catapult patch. Nothing. Thought about injecting another launcher into the ROM just haven't gotten around to it to try.

I have the exact same problem, in the setup i connected to my wifi network, and somehow it just started to download all my apps that was linked whith my google account, and it downloaded go launcher ex, and i just show the homescreen, and now its working

Does the Play Store work for you? Because I had some of your problems, but now they're gone (Except for the Play Store fc'ing). Weird.

Normally you should do a factory reset before "Reboot". And I normally Instal Gapps after a reboot, as it sometimes causes problems with the systemui I believe. No clue why
