Moving the Dalvik vm to /cache?

So the good news is that the /data partition is the largest of the Optimus line (>205MB). At the expense of the /cache partition, apparently (clocking in at ~69MB).

The bad news is that the /data partition is already half full of stuff. As I am looking into cleaning it out, I know that an easy clean would be to move the dalvik-vm to the /cache partition. I have searched, and have seen some write-ups on editing the init.rc file, others on flashing an Optimus S solution on Optimus V (not doing that).

Anyone in the know have thoughts as to how to move the dalvik-vm to /cache?
