First off great find for 10 bucks but you haven't told us what service you have. If you have T-Mobile with an android data plan you can just put your sim card in and register it through 3G.
If not there are ways to register a G1 over wifi, but from what I remember, you have to downgrade to RC29 and turn on wifi using adb.
