Jeez, but I assume that's due to there being pretty much 1 person on the HSPA+ network? Impressive though, hurry up UPS!!!

for once being a first adopter will be an advantage not a disadvantage as ur getting pretty much an entire bandwith section to yourself. I wonder how long that will last though and what speeds will be like when theres lots o HSPA+ phones on Tmobile. Got quite a few months before that happens though, so enjoy.

Combine this HSPA+ speed, and the processor speed test... this device is moving up on my chart for a November upgrade.

..bu, bu, but how? Is it really due to having only a few users? Do you guys think that the speed will go down after more users start using HSPA+?

Aren't most current TMo 3G user supposed to be able to reap the HSPA+ benefits as well?

Yeah, I think t-mobile's 3G phones use HSPA including the G1. The chip on them (G1s) won't let it go faster than 7.2 Mb/s but the G2 has a max of 14.4Mb/s.
So it's not a new network it is connecting to. It just has a chip that allows it to take full advantage of the speed the network allows. - 10-03-2010, 03:47 PM #12

That's the max I've gotten so far. On the phone itself, is there any way to tell whether you are on 3G or HSPA+? They both just use "H" on the notification bar. - 10-03-2010, 09:34 PM #13

Hell, that's faster than my home internet connection! I pull 181 kb/s because I live in an area that has been abandoned by ISPs (Queens, New York). T_T

Well I live in South Florida, where we are supposed to already have HSPA+. I live in Pembroke Pines to be exact. I have gotten 1.8 to 2.8 very frequently, but I have also reached 6.65 Dn and 1.7 Up.
I average 3.3 overall, here are some details:
Avg DL Avg Up Counts
Cell 3.30 1.42 38.00
Utms 1.85 1.01 12.00
Wifi 4.20 5.03 1.00 - 10-24-2010, 01:09 AM #22
A couple tests in a row on a G2:
5749 kbit down / 697 kbit up
4405 kbit down / 616 kbit up
3736 kbit down / 613 kbit up
3853 kbit down / 614 kbit up
4812 kbit down / 599 kbit up
4018 kbit down / 602 kbit up
There is moderate amounts of rain falling outside during the test and there are a fair number of trees around - the leaves and branches get wet and there is a lot of water in the air and that tends to attenuate the signal. I've seen as high as about 7 mbit.
