I don't think that the G2 is better than the Epic. There are just too many areas where the Epic comes out on top.

I would go with the G2 personally (not just because I have one). The epic will take forever to get froyo. That's annoying to me. Dealbreaker

Everything else (except pocketablility) Epic > G2

(personally I don't like Samsung phones but that's an opinion)

FWIW I'd still pick the G2.

I had the Epic for almost a month and I can tell you how extraordinarily frustrating that phone is. It's just a whole bunch of little things that don't work quite as well as they should, and when combined, makes the whole experience worse.

I am SO happy I returned the Epic and got the G2 instead.

While the G2 is the better phone, I would take the Epic's unrestricted hardware and vote with my wallet.

Yes, I'm that hard headed about this and will stay this way until HTC gives me a MT4G that's hacker friendly and quits the silly lock-game they tried (and failed) at. *shakes chubby fist*

G2:
HTC quality
T-Mobile Network
HTC support

Epic:
Front Camera
Galaxy S line
Samsung
And that's all. LOL Not a fan of either phone.
