Ehhh... Yikes. You may want to repost this in the general help forum, you'll probably reach a few more tech savvy users there. I know I'm not up on my sd card knowledge.

Err, no .. I actually want to format it using my PC, but when I do this I'm still not getting the promised 4MB/sec speed ..
I'm using the microSD -> SD adapter which came with the microSD card itself, and then putting this SD adapter into my laptops builtin card reader ... Is there any problem with this setup ? - 03-07-2011, 11:42 AM #5After 5 years of watching and waiting for a smart phone: Proud owner of a T-mobile G2.

Re: How do I low level format a microSD card for my Android phone
I placed my new micro sd card in my g2x but could not find any link to Format SD Card anywhere. I went to settings, SD card... Nothing there. But the phone sees the card and states that I now have 14.45GB of available memory.
Any help is appreciated. - 08-14-2011, 08:01 PM #7

Menu > settings > storage > erase SD card.
I'd find it hard to believe that you'll ever get exactly the advertised speed on any SDcard. Unless you're getting sluggish performance transferring large files or you're noticing slow downs loading apps from the SDcard, I really wouldn't be worried about it too much.
I'd say that the simplest way is what you've already done, just simply putting it in a PC and formatting the card, though. If you're really not happy you can always return the card or request a replacement if you think its faulty.LG Nexus 4 // T-Mobile - 11-28-2011, 06:49 PM #8
