Default Class Action thread.....please comment to subscribe

good evening everyone, I am a member of another forum and we started a class action thread for those to start gathering information and get subscribed to a thread that they can follow.

I am interested in one as well for the G2X, I am not going to bother with Tmobile/LG and its up to them to be proactive with announcements or updates as to ETA's etc, for now I will be proactive in my own interests because I matter more than they do.

    Thanks

    CBS

The problem with this stuff is that it drags on for months if not years. Then they reach a "settlement" in which the participants get a "credit" towards what ever it is they are suing about. In this case I can just see everyone getting a $50 credit towards the purchase of a new phone. I guarantee that LG nor T-Mobile will be stuck with replacing everyone's G2x. Especially since they are getting ready to release 2.3.3 to the public. I am running the just released LG 2.3.3 and it has literally fixed every issue I have had with my G2x. So no complaints with my phone, LG or T-Mobile. And that is where the problem is going to be. The Federal Court will see that LG has released a major fix for the phone and taken a pro-active approach to getting them fixed. How can you bring a law suit against LG when they are releasing software to fix the phone. I highly doubt that a Fed. Class Action will go anywhere.

Their are no consumer based laws that require a manufacturer to keep the public informed as to software releases on electronic devices. The only area where that holds is if the Fed. requires a major recall of something or the manufacturer recalls a product themselves. Then they are obligated to inform the public as to the recall and actions they need to take based on the recall. Other than that, nothing requires LG or T-Mobile to issue news updates on anything.

I know people are upset that the G2x was released with faulty software. It never should have happened. My hope is that T-Mobile and LG (along with all other manufacturers) have learned a hard lesson here. But the upcoming move to Gingerbread does, at least in my case (and many others), solve the issues with the phone. And, I am sure their will be additional fine tune software releases as time goes on beyone 2.3.3.

ive spent about 3 hours in the store and on the phone explaining to tmobile why this phone sucks, and they already knew, everything. even the manager at the store was like "i have the same problems, and ive exchanged it twice." they offered to give me the 2 year upgrade discounted price on another phone, but thats still $500 down the drain, and ive only had the phone for about a month and a half. LG refuses to allow tmobile to exchange this phone for another phone, and i refuse to pay $30 in shipping for replacement phones that are just going to fail.

im totally watching this thread! best of luck to you

I agree with "Wezra", you'll be offered chump change after a few years. The way to make these companies listen is Bad Publicity. If you can get a story on a major news channel about the phone and the way the companies treat customers you will get a satisfactory resolution. Bad publicity hurts their bottom line and they hate that.
