Screen wont stay off once fully charged

Anytime I plug my phone in to charge and turn off the screen, the screen comes back on once it's fully charged. You can try to turn the screen off but if the phone is still charging at 100% it will just turn the screen back on. Annoying as hell while it's charging at night while I'm trying to sleep. Any ideas on how to fix it?

From the home screen hit settings, applications, and then development. Make sure that stay awake is unchecked.

I did. It turns off fine while charging, it only turns itself back on when it reaches 100% charged battery. Odd.

I have the exact same thing happening to me. Every night the screen pops on and I cant keep it off. I powered it down last night to get it to shut down. I tried a hard reset today to see if maybe something got screwed up some how. Also i turned off led notifications for my wordfued app thought maybe linked some how so will see tonight if that helped. Though it doesnt seem there are many people having this issue as your post is all I can find for it.

Update: called customer care this evening they said it was not a known issue and shipped me a replacement so i guess we'll see. I will update if those things fixed it or not. And i know there is no led for the app to turn on but thought it may cause a issue having it checked. who knows.

I was really hoping to not have to do that. I've spent the last 3 days rooting it and getting it just the way I want it. But yeah, nothing online was giving me the impression it was happening to anyone else. Let me know if you come up with something.

No luck still wakes from sleep when battery is 100%. I guess its a swap for me.

One last question. What charger are you using? I have been using one I bought for my G2 not the one that came with the phone. I guess I'm grasping for straws but will try the one that was supplied I guess.

UPDATE::::: It was the charger I bought for my G2 from bestbuy. Used the supplied one worked fine plugged in my after market one from bestbuy and the screen wont turn off. Weird but that's the problem.
