guys I'm wanting to purchase a Note and I'm wondering, since I'm a non-contract tmo user, will an unlocked AT&T version work with no issues on Tmo ??
I've tried with other devices in the past and had all sorts of issues but hardware-wise these two [the two GSM's] seem either identical or almost so....

hi - yes in fact. over on xda there's a folder/subforum for Note users etc, and I notice that a handful of users of a certain ROM are using the AT&T version on T-mo.
its interesting [the particular ROM] 'cause they are claiming that wifi calling actually works... if so that is the FIRST time i've heard of a custom ROM on which the T-mo wifi calling feature could function. it may be that that particular ROM is essentially a rejiggered Stock SGH-979 ROM ...
whatever the upshot, yes there are some on t-mo. There are issues and I'm still getting acquainted. I actually bought the t-mo version ... hard to find and get at a reasonable price. cost me $355 usd but supposedly in pristine condition... haven't seen it yet as its scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

I've got an AT&T Note that I am seriously considering installing the T-Mo ROMs on...currently using mine un-altered, with the exception of CWM...

I'm using the SGH-I717 on TMobile. Just got it fully working and data speeds are between 12-15 down and 2-3 up.

Ditto. Mine gets great speeds and work very well on a Tmobile sim
