continuation of darken screen

I tried to answer some who was kind enough to respond to my problem but got messed up. I am 74 years old and traded a iphone 4s in for a galaxy 3s because it has a larger screen. My original thread was that when I used google on the home screen it took me where I wanted to go but the screen got dim. I downloaded google chrome. Now when I touch google on the home screen, it takes me to another screen that has a flashing cursor on the top of the screen with the word google to the right of it. I type in what I want to search for and it takes me to a small screen that says complete action using chrome or internet with a check box below saying use by default for this action. If I touch chrome it takes me to my answer with a bright screen. If I touch internet, it takes me to my answer with a dim screen. doe anyone know what is going on? How to I get to the internet resulting with a bright screen?

The "dim screen" is the default Web browser (Internet app). It has its' own brightness controls... Press the menu button while in the app and scroll down to brightness to access the brightness settings. Chrome on the other hand, uses the same brightness settings as the rest of the phone so you don't have to set it independently. Hope that helps.
