Prevent Screen From Turning On?

I want to prevent my screen from turning on so that my LED notifications can work. I just installed a app, LEDBlinker Pro, but it won't notify if the screen turns on. I have GO SMS Pro, and have tried to uncheck "screen on," but I think the SIII itself is forcing the screen to turn on. Anyway around this??

In Go SMS Pro Setting/Notification Settings uncheck Enable popup windows. See if that helps.

Yeah I unchecked that already as well.

At first I thought it was just GO SMS Pro, but then I noticed my screen turns on for Tapatalk as well. So I figured it was a system setting. If I can't prevent the screen from turning on, then the LED app won't work
