Noticed Saturday night that both Amazes that I have in hand have some significant light-bleed from the soft-key backlight to the bottom of the screen, enough to make "black" backgrounds a dark milky shade. (Particularly when the screen brightness is turned down 30% or less.)

I wouldn't mind if the backlight wasn't so eager to come on. Anyone know the logic behind when that light comes on? Any suggestions for Market apps to disable it?

This has been a known issue with most Amaze owners. The bleed is a hard design issue that cannot be repair, but there is a workaround that most users use. Go to the marketplace and search screen filter. this apps allows you to turn off the soft key and also dim the screen to a specified percentage (helps if you are in a dark room and the auto dim is too bright)

Hit the Thanks if I or anyone has helped you.

Screen Filter is a great solution, I have a widget icon, and use it as a Locale plug-in with Llama to turn off the backlights at night. Thanks for that, DeliriousBB.

I think I've determined that the backlight comes on in darkened rooms when you need the bleed-through the least.
