i got this phone the first day it came out. just recently it started turning off all by itself. it does it several times a day. and usually just turning ti back on doesnt solve the issue....it will get to the tmobile splash screen and turn back off again....or get to the HTC unlock screen and turn off. the only way to get it to stay on is to pull the battery. but then it only stays on for a couple hours maybe and then its off again. is this a common issue? a possible software issue? or do i need a new phone?

It's completely shutting itself off? That's not good. I would try a factory reset before taking it in for replacement. Perhaps some change or some app on your phone is the cause.
