Smart Dial isn't working!

Hi friends!

Just recently my 'Smart Dial' (The one that enables you to type in the first few letters of a name/number and the phone automatically suggests someone) feature in my Sensation isn't working!

Now i would need to memorize numbers or go to the 'People' page and clicked their names THEN their numbers to dial which i find a little inconvenient. Did i do something to my phone?

The only relevant thing i could think of is i just updated to 2.3.4 over the air =/

Hi. Have you solve the problem? I m having similar problem, but only that the smart dial only search phone number, not the name.
Currently on htc desire vc rooted stock rom.

Please share if u have any solution. Thanks

I was having the same issue(Smart Dial would look up only digits) with my HTC Sensation Xe (not rooted).
So I decided to factory reset my phone and see what it does and guess what
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
Smart Dial now looks up my contacts by both their names & numbers
Hope it works for those having the issue.
