    Default Sense lag

Here's what I'm talking about when I said the EVO 3D was faster than the Sensation. Not by a lot, and it's probably not going to be noticeable unless you have used both phones (or they're side by side).

Ummm yea. I couldnt care less about how fast I have to get my finger working to spin a stupid carousel on my phone. Has zero to do with functionality, I dont care. Have you ever thought that the screen on the Evo is more sensitive to touch?

I second that. I don't care about the spin carousel either but I would love to see a video of the two phones comparing browsing performance. Perhaps you can do that. Maybe the Sensation will receive an update that makes the screen more sensitive?

This. Oh and I dont want my screen more sensitive then it is, its perfect. Get too sensitive a screen and it will be bringing up things you didnt mean to press which is terrible.

Thanks for the video. Hopefully HTC will adress this in an OTA update. The EVO 3D is noticeably smoother when scrolling and doing the carousel. Not a big difference at all, something you would never notice without both phones side by side.

I doubt it's the difference in RAM. Has to be either the software, or maybe the 8660 has advantages over the 8260.

Perhaps something with the networks? T-Mobile is GSM whereas Sprint is CDMA.

I love the Sensation but I agree with Phil. A snappy, responsive interface is key to a satisfying user experience for me. This is the first thing I notice about the iPhone when I touch it. It is designed to be super snappy and responsive. I've only been able to replicate that on rooted android phones running custom roms. Hopefully future updates might resolve this on the Sensation. That said the Sensation is far from slow in my opinion. It just needs to be a hair faster.

Did anyone learn anything other than Phil's right hand is superior?

Sense 3.0 is a graphics and memory hungry UI. You want snappy? Remove it by rooting or install a launcher from the market. Problem solved.

So Phil, knowing this, and the limitations of both phones and their networks, which one would you choose? If you had to buy one for yourself, which one would you pick up? (no hedging please!)

Except i wouldn't have Sense then. Plain android isn't satisfying anymore after experiencing sense. Given how fast they've made Sense even with all the great features, and given the fact that it is snappier on the evo 3d I think there is room for improvement on the Sensation.

Played with an Evo 3D for about 15 minutes today and although it is a bit more snappy, its got major reception and data issues. I had Sprint for 4 years so I know their coverage very well in this area and the 3D seemed to be doing what my Nexus S 4G was. Wouldnt hold a 4G signal longer than a few minutes and the 3G would bounce between no bars up to 3 and all over. Wasnt just me either. Phonedog just put up their review and the tester was having the same issues all the way in Charlotte, The 2D camera is nothing compared to the one on the Sensation either. So I would much rather have a phone with a little "lag" then one that doesnt really work for voice or data.

Was it at your local sprint store? I just want to play with one for ****s and giggles to see if the difference is as noticeable as Phil says.

If people are going to base their decisions off of his video then that's pretty pathetic. Besides both phones are on different networks. Your either on T-Mobile or Sprint. I'm sorry but switching networks because of a phone is ridiculous.

I left t mobile for the OG Droid back in the day, and now I'm back for the Sensation. I don't believe its ridiculous. I think it's a major reason why people should choose their carriers.

I think the most important reason to choose a carrier is coverage. If Verizon has the Droid X which you really want and has no coverage then what good is it? Now if you have coverage with every provider then the most logical thing to do would be go with the cheapest one which is probably T-Mobile. I can't see being under contract and breaking that contract for another phone. Of course its a different story if your out of contract but since we're talking smartphones I doubt that's the case lol.

Yes and yes! Only thing I say is that if you can afford any company than why not choose the phone you want. I'm loving T-Mobile's prices, and this phone. Had the Evo 3D been out already, I would have gone with them lol

You obviously haven't been a smartphone user for long.

Phone comes first, then coverage. Me being in suburban chicago, choosing the phone before anything else isn't an issue. I've broken multiple contracts in order to get a different phone on a different carrier, and I've never ended up actually being out any money.
