Poll: Atrix vs Nexus S
Now that the Motorola Atrix has been released and we you are all settled in and have used it and the Nexus S has been on sale for a month or two. What phone would you go with. I'm in the market for a new phone and these are my only 2 options.
in case anyone is wondering I live in canada.
So vote away - 03-02-2011, 04:53 PM #2
Nexus S because pure Google and updates first. The Nexus S is really fast, the Atrix is probably a lot faster but I am happy with my nexus

Well all I can say is try both of them out and which ever one feels better then that should be what you choose. Good luck. I love my Nexus!

I will say Nexus S but i noticed you said you need Micro SD card so in that case i will say get the Atrix. Do your home work on that device before jumping.... One thing you really need to worry about the Atrix is the UPDATE. Will Motorola upgrade to Gingerbread/HoneyComb in the feature. Thats the only thing keeping me away from all these manufactures and learning more toward pure google.
PS: I had 16gig on my Nokia N900 right now that i barely use 4gigs worth and on the internal 32gigs, i do not even use up to 1gig. Just saying to each his/her own. I will soon get the nexus s just waiting another month to see what else comes out

Not confused, just misquote the manufacturer Samsung instead of Motorola. Corrected though. Either way if i recall Samsung also said their phone(s) will be getting the update and look at all the mess that created for them. Only time will tell when Motorola push out the update for Atrix. Keep in mind if it has to go through AT&T then it might be a big mess and possibly a long wait.

just returned my atrix for nexus s
I just returned my Atrix for the Nexus s. Why?
Att network is slower then T-Mobile in my area so 4g doesn't matter
Barely any applications take advantage of duel core. From my use the nexus s is faster by far when browsing the web and going through home screens.
Nexus s updates
Camera on nexus s takes better pictures.
form factor - nexus s looks much nicer
atrix has the finger print security. - will miss that!
I ACTUALLY liked moto blur
Overall happier with Nexus s! !!! - 03-06-2011, 01:29 PM #10

I would take the Atrix over the Nexus S. I love the Nexus S screen, but I think the Atrix is better in every other way. The only thing I don't like about the Atrix is that it is on AT&T.

All the reviews for the Atrix have been not so good. I'm not a fan of blur personally. I had a Motorola Milestone and was stuck on 2.1 forever. I was going to get the Milestone 2 (I'm a qwerty lover) but opted for the Nexus S instead. I've been craving a "pure Google" device for the longest. I had a HTC Hero (GSM) and the Moto Milestone (with stock 2.1). I liked both for what they were, but for some reason I just feel more free with my Nexus S. Right now, it's pretty rare where I live (Hong Kong) so I was lucky to find it (2 actually, one for the wife who loves it also).
I thought seriously about the Atrix, until I saw the reviews. Check out Engadget's review. For me, that felt to be the best and most sincere. Josh was so into getting one since CES, but to read his review, I just knew it was typical Moto. - 03-19-2011, 07:04 AM #13
I really don't care to have a "pure' Google experience. Even though MOTO blur isn't the prettiest UI it is better than having vanilla Android. Personally, I love Sense. It makes Android that much better.

I am have to get a new device right now I will go for the Nexus S. I rather have a device that will get the latest from google than a first generation 2X core device.
Beside with all the talk of quadcore (
!!) devices, I rather wait with my Fascinate(untill I get bored).
Rooting comes with great power & great responsibilities.
