    Default Rooting Nexus S

    Hi,

I am thinking of rooting my Nexus S in order to get proxy support either with ASProxy or with a custom ROM.
    My questions are:
1-Is it possible to UNroot? The reason why I'm asking is if there is a new android update, will I be able to go back to the stock ROM and get the update?
2-Is there any custom ROM with proxy support? I hear CM7 is good but does it have proxy support? If not, which custom ROM do you suggest?

    Thanks.

I've not gone down the root process myself. But my understanding, is yes, the Nexus S can be unrooted and the boot loader relocked.

yes you wil be able to go back to stock. only problem is, when loading everything stock the only thing that does not change is the baseband version. meaning lets say your baseband version is at I9020XXKB3 once you go all the way back to 2.3.1 and try to update to 2.3.2, it wont work because of the baseband verion is not patched. just be aware. i ran into this problem when unrooting, the phone will not update when on a different baseband version.

If you decide to root your device, the devs usually update their custom ROMs with the latest and greatest, whether it's Android version, kernel or baseband. Or, if you choose, you can apply updated patches you see fit. No reason really to rely solely on Google for an OTA update.
